Approximately $8 million in Ethereum was moved to new wallets following the November 2 security breach at Brazilian exchange Mercado Bitcoin. Attackers reportedly transferred between $46 million and $49 million in digital assets, while investigators helped freeze nearly $10 million by working with law enforcement, exchanges and token issuers. Tether alone restricted access to more than $9 million in USDT, although frozen assets have not yet been recovered. The attacker still controls millions of dollars worth of alternative cryptocurrencies, including PEPE, AAVE, PENDLE, VIRTUAL, UNI and ONDO, and could sell them to create additional market pressure. No transfer to Tornado Cash has been confirmed, and the investigation remains active.
