Statement assembly for Jack Butcher’s Credits project opened on October 1, 2026 at 8pm ET. Each 8-dollar payment through X Money generates one Credit, which can be burned at a minimum of 80 Credits to create a Statement, with a maximum supply of 1,526 units. Collectors can overprint two Statements to form one, with up to seven overprints before the paper turns permanently black. Butcher published a Credit Ratings methodology allowing each Credit to be scored from 80 to 800, with a Statement’s score being the sum of all burned Credits’ scores. The project continues the lineage of Checks, exploring belief as medium and composition as an irreversible choice.
