Mercado Bitcoin Hack: $8M in Ethereum Moved After Attack

Approximately $8 million in Ethereum was moved to new wallets following the November 2 security breach at Brazilian exchange Mercado Bitcoin. Attackers reportedly transferred between $46 million and $49 million in digital assets, while investigators helped freeze nearly $10 million by working with law enforcement, exchanges and token issuers. Tether alone restricted access to more than $9 million in USDT, although frozen assets have not yet been recovered. No transfer to Tornado Cash has been confirmed, and the investigation remains active.
