Elon Musk said that the boards of SpaceX and Tesla have formed special committees to study a potential merger, although no agreement has been reached. The combined company, valued at roughly $3.5 trillion, would bring together Grok, X, Starlink, the Starmind orbital data center project, the Terafab chip factory, Tesla’s robotaxis and Optimus robots. SpaceX reported quarterly revenue of $14.58 billion and its first profit since going public, while Tesla shareholders would need to approve the merger with the support of 50% of all outstanding shares. Barclays estimates that Musk would hold about 56% of the voting rights in the combined company, giving him greater control while potentially drawing scrutiny from regulators in Washington and Beijing.
