SpaceX stock drops 8% despite stronger than expected second quarter results

SpaceX reported second quarter 2026 revenue of $7.8 billion, beating Wall Street consensus estimates of $6.8 to $6.9 billion. The company posted adjusted EBITDA of $3.5 billion while capital expenditures climbed to $18.4 billion. Revenue surged 66% quarter-over-quarter from $4.69 billion in Q1 2026, driven by Starlink connectivity services and the AI and data infrastructure segment. Despite these strong results, SPCX shares fell 8% on the Nasdaq, as investors raised concerns about the capital-intensive nature of the Starship program.
