DoubleZero has added Kalshi’s election and politics markets to its Edge service, offering professional traders faster access to market data through a dedicated network. This infrastructure could help market makers manage risk and offer better prices, but there is no guarantee these advantages will translate into better deals for ordinary bettors. Access to these data feeds requires specialized software and capital, creating an additional competitive edge for well-equipped firms against retail users betting on their phones. On Kalshi, a standard contract pays 1 dollar if the outcome occurs, and the price roughly reflects perceived probability, but odds can shift quickly between when a user checks the app and when they place an order. The CFTC has also warned about cases where traders benefited from informational advantages that went beyond simple connection speed.
