The White House has agreed to major crypto ethics rules as part of the CLARITY Act, a 635-page cryptocurrency market-structure bill. Senate Republicans released the revised text ahead of a September 15 procedural vote. The bill would give the Commodity Futures Trading Commission primary authority over digital-commodity transactions, including exchanges, brokers, and dealers. Officials with significant crypto holdings must divest or place assets in a blind trust. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Senator Cynthia Lummis voiced support for the measure.
