Vitol SA and other investors have committed $225 million to Voltus, a San Francisco-based power technology company specializing in virtual power plants. This Series D round, led by Generation Investment Management with participation from Activate Capital, represents more than three times the $66 million the company had previously raised. Voltus helps data centers bypass grid interconnection delays through its Bring Your Own Capacity program, with a partnership already signed with Google covering 100 MW in the PJM region. In 2025, the company recorded $240 million in customer earnings and savings while managing 8.1 GW of flexible capacity and delivering 816,000 MWh of grid relief.
