The SEC approved Cboe BZX’s proposed rule change via the Rule 19b-4 process, clearing a listing hurdle for 3x daily leveraged exchange-traded products on Bitcoin, Ethereum, gold, silver, crude oil, and natural gas. These products would allow investors to obtain amplified daily exposure without directly borrowing money or using a crypto derivatives account, but since leverage resets daily, returns over several days can differ significantly. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded 119 million dollars in net inflows on October 6th, with BlackRock’s IBIT accounting for 122 million dollars of that amount, while spot Ethereum ETFs suffered 202 million dollars in net outflows on the same day, entirely from BlackRock’s ETHA.
