UEFA and Fanatics have announced a partnership to equip players making their first Champions League appearance with a special patch starting from the 2026/27 season. After the match, the patch is removed, authenticated, and turned into a signed or limited-edition trading card. Fanatics, which owns Topps, has been UEFA’s commercial partner since at least 2022. This model has already been implemented in Major League Baseball in 2023, MLS in 2024, and the NBA during the 2025/26 season. FIFA is also exploring a similar program for the 2026 World Cup.
