Jefferies upgraded Chemed’s rating from hold to buy and raised its price target from $520 to $620, implying roughly 22% upside from Monday’s close. The move followed quarterly results that beat analyst expectations, with shares up more than 2% in premarket trading. According to Jefferies analyst Brian Tanquilut, the group should regain stable, healthy earnings growth and recover a premium valuation after overcoming the Medicare hospice caps that constrained its client base and income potential in 2025. Over the past year, the stock has risen about 16%, compared with 23% for the S&P 500 healthcare sector, while the Roto-Rooter plumbing business is showing signs of stabilization. Three of the five analysts covering Chemed rate it buy or strong buy, while two rate it hold, according to LSEG data.
