Russia claims to have shot down over 1,100 drones during a massive overnight attack on September 19-20, coinciding with the final day of Russia’s parliamentary elections. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported more than 1,600 drones intercepted in total. The assault killed two civilians and injured approximately 20 others, including children, across the Moscow region. The Gazprom Neft oil refinery in the Kapotnya district sustained damage, and three major Moscow airports, Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo, and Domodedovo, imposed temporary flight restrictions. Ukraine confirmed targeting strategic oil and logistics facilities, stating these strikes weaken Russia’s ability to fund its military operations.
