Swiss non-custodial Bitcoin service Pocket Bitcoin disclosed a security breach in its customer support system that exposed personal data of 5,411 users. The incident, which occurred over approximately one week in mid-August 2026, involved unauthorized access to an internal database containing correspondence with financial institutions for 291 individuals and transaction lists for 5,120 other users. The company cut off the intruder’s access on August 16 and publicly announced the breach on August 21. No funds, KYC profiles, or full transaction histories were compromised, and no confirmed cases of data misuse had been reported as of September 3.
