Nvidia has agreed to acquire Hugging Face, the platform often called the ‘GitHub of AI,’ for approximately $13 billion. This would be the chipmaker’s largest acquisition in its history, making it the owner of the main hub hosting over 2 million open-weight AI models and 500,000 datasets used by 13 million developers. Hugging Face’s annualized revenue stands at roughly $150 million, implying a valuation of about 86 times sales, well above the 10 to 30 times multiples typically seen in enterprise software.
