Joseph Lubin, Ethereum co-founder and founder of ConsenSys (MetaMask’s parent company), confirmed there is no indication that MetaMask wallets or customer funds were affected by the recently reported security incident. The incident, first reported on September 30, led MetaMask to take precautionary measures including taking validators offline. About 17,000 validators have exited, translating to approximately 513,000 ETH, while over 800 potentially impacted validators were still pending exit as of October 1st. Lido and Linea also exited MetaMask validators as a precaution, reducing residual operational risk. Despite significant movements in the staking market, ETH price remained stable, consolidating below the $2,800 mark.
