Ethereum’s unstaking queue reached approximately 850,000 ETH in early October, a 392% increase since the start of the month, with an estimated wait time of nearly 14.77 days. This surge was partly driven by a security incident at MetaMask Staking, which exited roughly 523,000 ETH (17,000 validators) as a precaution after its infrastructure was compromised on September 30. ETH price remained stable, trading between $2,686 and $2,725 from September 30 to October 2. In total, approximately 43.6 million ETH remains staked across about 878,000 validators, with the exit queue representing only 2% of that total staked supply.
