Data centers can be good citizens. It’s why we’re partnering with Google and Nvidia to create the AI Energy Management Alliance

Emerald AI, Google and NVIDIA have founded the AI Energy Management Alliance (AEMA) with 17 other companies to enable data centers to flexibly consume electricity and support the power grid during peak demand hours. According to the Brattle Group, each 10 percent gain in grid utilization lowers electricity rates by about 3.4 percent. Making AI data centers flexible could unlock 100GW of capacity on the existing grid, while new data centers currently wait a decade or more for grid connections. A nearly 100MW power-flexible AI factory will launch this year in Virginia through a partnership between NVIDIA, Digital Realty and Emerald AI. The alliance is urging governors and regulators to offer faster and larger grid connections to data centers that commit to flexibility.
