Bitcoin’s Cryptography Could Be Cracked One Day, BitGo CEO Says

Mike Belshe, co-CEO of BitGo, said during an appearance on Fox Business that the quantum computing risk for Bitcoin is real, but the technology needed to threaten the cryptocurrency’s cryptographic security remains far from practical. He specified that current quantum computers only work theoretically, with a capacity ranging from single digits to 100 qubits. BitGo has already launched a quantum-resistant wallet, although this technology continues to evolve. Regarding market volatility, Belshe estimated that those not ready to accept a 20% drop are certainly not ready to benefit from 600% gains.
