Bitcoin fell to $78,800 on Thursday, down 2.89% in 24 hours, after reports of a suspected hack against Binance. Blockchain data showed up to $5.8 billion in suspicious outflows, including about $3.55 billion received by an unlabeled wallet. Tether froze more than $1.567 billion in USDT, Circle froze roughly $823 million in USDC, and Aave suspended its lending markets. Binance has not officially confirmed a breach, although co-founder Yi He said the company is investigating a potential security issue; if confirmed, the incident would exceed the $1.5 billion Bybit hack from February 2025.
