Bitcoin Price Shrugs Off Clarity Act Fail, Blasts Past $86,000

Last week, Democrats blocked the Clarity Act, long-awaited crypto legislation, citing a conflict of interest over President Trump and his family’s reported $1.4 billion in crypto-related holdings. Despite the bill’s failure, bitcoin’s price surged nearly 7% in one day, breaking past $86,000 to reach $86,247 on Monday morning in New York. Over 30 days, the cryptocurrency is up 10%. Bitcoin ETFs listed in the United States saw positive net flows of nearly $593 million on Thursday and Friday, according to Farside Investors data.
