AMD shares fall 7% after earnings as quarterly capex more than doubles to $808 million

AMD reported record Q2 results with revenue of $11.54 billion, up 50% year over year. Despite the strong performance, shares fell 7% in after-hours trading due to sharply higher capital expenditures. Capex more than doubled to $808 million from $389 million in Q1. Data center revenue more than doubled to $6.72 billion, representing 58% of total revenue. For Q3, AMD expects revenue of approximately $13 billion, representing 41% year-over-year growth.
