Anthropic has added an environment variable to Claude Code named CLAUDE_CODE_EVEN_MORE_DANGEROUSLY_SKIP_PERMISSIONS that removes the final confirmation required before certain file deletions. Available from version 2.1.311, it allows the agent to run rm and rmdir commands against critical paths, including the filesystem root and the home directory, without human intervention. It goes beyond the bypassPermissions mode, which already disabled most permission prompts, by also bypassing the final safeguard against destructive deletions. Anthropic recommends using this bypass mode only in isolated containers or virtual machines, while 93% of manual permission prompts in Claude Code are approved by users.
