Payward received in-principle approval from the Astana Financial Services Authority on October 22 to license an entity in the Astana International Financial Centre. The proposed activities include digital asset trading, dealing as principal and agent, and digital asset custody. Kazakh traders could gain access to Kraken’s global order books, but no local launch date has been announced. In-principle approval identifies the conditions that must be met before the final license is granted, which has not yet been issued.
