OpenAI released on October 2, 2026, a detailed guide for its GPT-6 model family targeting developers and startups. The guide presents four models: Astra, Sol, Luna, and 6.1 Sol, each with distinct performance levels and pricing. Astra, the flagship model for complex reasoning, achieved 98% on FrontierMath Tier 4 and 99.9% on ARC-AGI-3. Sol and Luna cut their pricing by 50% compared to the previous GPT-5.6 generation, with Sol costing $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. The 6.1 Sol model delivers near-Astra performance at one-fifth of Astra’s cost. All GPT-6 models feature a 1.05M token context window and a maximum output of 128K tokens.
