John Ternus became CEO of Apple on September 1, succeeding Tim Cook who built the company into a $5 trillion company. Apple has grown from roughly $2 billion in annual profit in 2006 to about $112 billion in 2025, a nearly 60-fold increase in under two decades. While the iPhone still accounts for roughly half of 2025 sales, the services division has become a major revenue driver, projected to generate more than a quarter of this year’s revenue. Apple operates more than 500 stores worldwide. A $10,000 investment in Apple’s 1980 IPO would be worth approximately $40.5 million by mid-2026.
