Coventry City secured their first Premier League win since April 16, 2001, by beating Nottingham Forest 1-0 on September 19, 2026, at the City Ground. The goal came from Jay Dasilva in the 55th minute, his first strike in 127 appearances for the club, created by goalkeeper Carl Rushworth’s precise long ball. Forest had an equalizer ruled out by VAR when Igor Jesus’s goal was disallowed for a foul on Coventry’s Caleb Yirenkyi. The victory lifted Coventry off the bottom of the table, where they had been languishing after four straight defeats without scoring. Manager Frank Lampard called it a landmark day for the club, which had been relegated from the top flight in 2001.
