Hashkey Exchange has joined the DTCC’s (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation) working group on tokenization innovation, becoming the first Asian digital asset service provider to join a group that includes over 100 financial institutions. Other participants include Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). DTCC, which custodies $114 trillion in liquid assets, plans to launch access to tokenized securities in October. In December, the SEC issued a no-action letter to a DTCC subsidiary, enabling it to offer a new securities market tokenization service. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins said this approval was only the beginning, as the commission considers an innovation exemption to facilitate the transition of markets on-chain.
