Faker qualifies for his 11th World Championship after 13 years of dominance

Faker, whose real name is Lee Sang-hyeok, qualified for his 11th League of Legends World Championship on September 1, 2026. His T1 squad secured a playoff spot in the LCK after GEN.G defeated KT, meaning they did not even need to win their own match to qualify. This marks his sixth consecutive Worlds appearance, a streak dating back to 2021. He became the first player to reach 10 or more Worlds appearances back in September 2025, a record he now extends to 11 total. Out of his 10 prior appearances, six ended with him lifting the trophy.
