Core Lightning developers confirmed that several AI-generated security reports identified real vulnerabilities in their Bitcoin payments software. The team warned node operators to promptly install the forthcoming update or use –offline mode instead of shutting down their nodes. The project spent 10 days reviewing AI-generated vulnerability reports from multiple sources. According to the Bitcoin Red Team, a volunteer cybersecurity group, AI-assisted analysis produced 4,962 possible findings across 390 Bitcoin projects, with 85 rated as critical and 635 as highly severe. Details will remain private for at least two weeks while developers prepare fixes.
