Solana reduced its target block production time from 400ms to 350ms after a feature gate activated at the start of epoch 1020 on Aug. 21. Telemetry from epoch 1021 measured mean slot spacing at 365.4ms, compared to 420.7ms in epoch 1015. Skipped slot rates dropped from 0.438% to 0.077% over the same period, offering an early stability signal. The official roadmap calls for subsequent stages at 300ms, 250ms and eventually 200ms. Solana currently ranks #7 by market cap and is up 4.87% over the past 24 hours.
