Elon Musk’s X platform has transformed its Cashtag feature into a full trading gateway, allowing U.S. users to execute trades directly from the social media interface by clicking on a Cashtag such as $BTC. The initial partner group includes Coinbase, Gemini, and Kraken for cryptocurrency trading, as well as Interactive Brokers and Moomoo for stocks and traditional financial products. X itself is not buying or selling assets on behalf of users; it acts as a bridge that redirects users to participating exchanges. Cashtags, which previously served as tools to view prices, charts, and related posts, have now evolved into interactive trading points. The feature is currently limited to U.S. users and covers supported assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Solana, Dogecoin, Tesla, Strategy, and Coinbase.
