Yellow Card, an Africa-based stablecoin infrastructure provider, has raised $40 million in a strategic funding round that closed on August 4. Investors include SC Ventures, the venture arm of Standard Chartered, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital, and Blockchain Capital, bringing the company’s total equity financing past the $120 million mark. Yellow Card has processed over $10 billion in transaction volume across more than 50 currencies and holds licenses in 22 jurisdictions. The company has strategic partnerships with Visa, Mastercard, Western Union, PayPal, and Coinbase. The funding will be used to expand the Global USD Accounts product into Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
