The Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC) confirmed in a Form 8-K report dated September 9, 2026 the registration of options on the Evolve XRP ETF and Purpose XRP ETF for sale in the United States under Form S-20. These instruments, already trading successfully on the Montreal Exchange since early 2026, became possible after the SEC and CFTC classified XRP as a qualifying digital commodity. Major Canadian banks are beginning to gain exposure to XRP: National Bank of Canada reported a stake of approximately $330,000 in the Bitwise XRP ETF, while Bank of Montreal (BMO) also disclosed investments in XRP products. This advancement follows a strategy launched in summer 2025, when Canada became the first country in North America to launch fully physically backed spot XRP ETFs on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
