WiseTech reports productivity surge amid workforce reductions

WiseTech Global, the Australian logistics software firm, has announced plans to cut approximately 2,000 jobs from its 7,000-person workforce, representing nearly 30% of its global headcount. The announcement came alongside half-year results showing revenue of $672 million, a 76% jump, with shares rising 11.1% on the day. The company says AI integration has enabled it to deliver projects in days rather than months, with initial cuts generating net cost savings ahead of internal projections. The first wave of approximately 500 roles was implemented in the first half of fiscal year 2026, with remaining reductions scheduled through FY2027. WiseTech operates the CargoWise platform serving over 22,000 companies across 193 countries.
