Western Union and Rain launched Stablecard on August 4, a digital wallet and Visa card allowing users to receive transfers as USDPT, a dollar-backed stablecoin, and spend the balance at any Visa merchant or ATM. The product is live in 37 markets with a target of over 60 by year-end. Western Union moved 107.4 billion dollars in cross-border principal across 285.9 million consumer money transfer transactions in 2025. USDPT, issued by Anchorage Digital Bank on Solana, has 7.4 million tokens in circulation. The launch comes five days after second-quarter earnings showed GAAP revenue of 1.0 billion dollars, down 1% year over year, prompting the company to cut full-year earnings guidance.
