The money flows toward Broadcom’s custom silicon, with a potential $42 billion lending commitment that could convert into Anthropic equity. Anthropic is committing to a $125.2 billion lease for tensor processing units, backed by a previous $35 billion tranche that closed in June 2026. The startup, valued at $65 billion after a May 2026 funding round, is targeting over 20 gigawatts of compute capacity by 2028.
