Chinese humanoid robot manufacturer Unitree made a spectacular debut on the Shanghai STAR market with a surge of 629 % from its IPO price of 150.8 yuan, before pulling back to close with gains of around 460 %. The company raised 6.1 billion yuan, approximately 904 million dollars, and now has a market capitalization of 342 billion yuan (53 billion dollars), placing it ahead of several recently listed Chinese tech firms. Unitree claims to be the world’s largest humanoid robot manufacturer with over 5,500 units delivered in 2025 and around 18,000 since its launch through July 2026. Its price-to-earnings ratio stands at approximately 1,300, reflecting bets on future growth rather than current profitability. This performance even exceeded crypto traders’ expectations on prediction markets, illustrating how speculative capital moves across asset classes.
