Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published an essay on September 12 calling for the industry to slow the development of frontier AI models while urging continued U.S. chip export restrictions on China. President Trump called the AI-takeover warnings a « hoax » tied to the « Radical Left. » The briefing comes two days before Trump sits down with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington on September 24.
