Crypto advocacy group Stand With Crypto collected 10,092 complaints from 9,803 UK banking customers between May and August 2026 over blocked or restricted transfers to crypto platforms registered with the FCA. Complaints came from all 650 of the country’s parliamentary constituencies. Lloyds Banking Group received 2,297, followed by Barclays with 1,569 and NatWest Group with 1,278, while six banks publish transfer limits and six others impose outright bans. The group urged the FCA and HM Treasury to replace blanket restrictions with risk-based checks, require clearer banking policies and protect access to banking services for authorized platforms before the UK crypto regime comes into force in 2027.
