Trump Taps Jay Clayton, the SEC Chair Who Sued Ripple, to Lead AI Push

President Trump announced the creation of a Super Intelligence Force, a task force to coordinate federal AI policy, with Jay Clayton, the Director of National Intelligence and former SEC Chair under Trump’s first term, named as its leader. During his tenure at the SEC, Clayton brought 57 cases against crypto firms and sued Ripple for $1.3 billion over XRP in his final days in office. After leaving the SEC, he advised crypto companies including One River Asset Management and Fireblocks, before being appointed interim U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, where he oversaw the prosecution of Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm.
