The third-largest American bank, Wells Fargo, is reportedly in talks with Payward, the parent company of the Kraken platform, to become its official crypto liquidity provider. This information, reported by CoinDesk based on sources close to the matter, remains to be confirmed. Wells Fargo manages over 70 million clients worldwide and is developing an active crypto strategy, including the launch of its own stablecoin WFUSD, as well as a blockchain project for tokenized deposits in partnership with JPMorgan, Bank of America and Citigroup, scheduled for launch in the first half of 2027. Payward is also reportedly in talks with another American banking giant, BNY Mellon, for a major partnership covering custody, trading, payments and wealth management related to cryptocurrencies.
