Thailand takes a step toward Bitcoin and Ether ETF approval with the publication of two consultation papers by the Thai SEC. Asset managers could establish passive ETFs tracking Bitcoin or Ether, the only two eligible crypto assets, which would trade exclusively on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). Each ETF would need to maintain average net exposure of at least 80% of its net asset value. The SEC has also revised its proposal regarding foreign digital asset custodians, who would need to be supervised by a regulatory authority. Public comments will be accepted until September 20.
