Superhuman, formerly known as Grammarly, has acquired GPTZero, the AI content detection tool created by Edward Tian and Alex Cui during a college winter break. Launched in January 2023, GPTZero has over 20 million registered users and generates $30 million in annual recurring revenue. The company raised $13.5 million in total funding and became profitable in 2024 with a team of roughly 30 people. According to PitchBook, GPTZero was valued at over $88 million, and investors reportedly secured at least a 10x return. GPTZero will continue as an independent product while being integrated into Superhuman Go, the company’s AI assistant that operates across more than one million apps and websites.
