The Solana Foundation announced the postponement of its Accelerate event in Shanghai after registrations quadrupled overnight, exceeding the limit authorized by local authorities. The event, which was supposed to kick off a four-city tour in China, was delayed to comply with local regulations. In October 2025, a Solana event in Shenzhen was also cut short due to similar capacity and public safety concerns. China prohibits a wide range of crypto-related services, including token fundraising, trading and mining.
