Sanctum has rolled out a 2-of-3 multisig system for every wallet in its consumer mobile app. Each transaction now requires approval from two separate keys: one stored on the phone and protected by biometrics, one backed up in iCloud or Google Drive, and one recovery key linked to the email address through Turnkey. The system runs on Squads infrastructure, which protects more than $15 billion across Solana applications. The rollout is intended to reduce the risks of theft and key loss, but it also makes wallet security partly dependent on cloud accounts, email addresses, and their authentication measures. No significant price fluctuation for Sanctum followed the announcement.
