RTX has secured a $22.9 billion contract from the US Navy to dramatically increase Tomahawk cruise missile production from approximately 60 units per year to more than 1,000 annually. The deal is part of five multi-year framework agreements signed between Raytheon and the Department of Defense on February 4, which also include expanded production of AMRAAM, SM-6, and SM-3 missiles. Manufacturing will be concentrated at RTX facilities in Arizona, Alabama, and Massachusetts, which have already seen a $2.6 billion capital investment program initiated in 2025. Separately, Raytheon secured a $476.5 million contract modification for Tomahawk modernization and sustainment through 2029. CEO Chris Calio described the agreements as redefining how the government and defense industry collaborate.
