Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev has reignited speculation that the trading platform could expand its presence in the memecoin market after engaging with a post calling for memecoins to come to Robinhood. This speculation comes as Robinhood Chain, its Ethereum-compatible Layer 2 launched in July, now generates more chain fees than Solana, Base and Ethereum, according to blockchain intelligence firm Arkham. Robinhood already has a notable history in this space, having listed Dogecoin as early as July 2018 and Shiba Inu in April 2022, and currently offers tokens such as Pepe, Bonk, Dogwifhat, Floki, Popcat and Pudgy Penguins in its U.S. crypto lineup. For now, the community is connecting the dots but no official announcement has been made by Vlad Tenev.
