Ripple is recommending that the XRP Ledger community withdraw the XLS-38 amendment, also known as XChainBridge, which was designed to bring cross-chain bridging capabilities to the network. The company has selected the Axelar network to connect the XRP Ledger to its EVM sidechain, considering it a better solution for its primary use case. The XLS-38 amendment contains over 10,000 lines of code that Ripple wants to eliminate. The decision could be reversed if developers present compelling enough use cases. The withdrawal must follow the network’s standard amendment process, as Ripple cannot act unilaterally since it controls only one validator vote.
