Perplexity Computer has integrated OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 model family across its platform, using Terra as the default engine for subagents and Luna for automations. The integration was completed on July 12, just three days after OpenAI made the models generally available on July 9. The three-tier family includes Sol at 5 dollars per million input tokens, Terra at 2.50 dollars, and Luna at 1 dollar, each serving different complexity and budget needs. Decentralized crypto-based AI agent projects face additional challenges in latency, gas fees, and token staking requirements compared to centralized solutions like Perplexity. The article suggests that decentralized networks could offset this by offering token-governed pricing and revenue allocation.
