Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery will proceed with their $110 billion merger following a settlement with state attorneys general led by California’s Rob Bonta, who had sued to block the deal on antitrust grounds. This settlement ends a lawsuit that was set for trial in March and would have delayed completion until mid-2027. California and eleven other states filed suit in July citing antitrust concerns in film and pay TV. Without this agreement, a ticking fee of 25 cents per share per quarter, approximately $650 million per quarter, would have been paid to WBD shareholders.
